Dr Antonia Paolella

May we take this opportunity to introduce Dr Antonia Paolella and her exceptional dental team. Dr Paolella has had 30 years of experience in private dental practice and has established herself as one of the most experienced general dentists in the UK. She has an enduring passion for her profession and has therefore always kept abreast of the latest advances in dental techniques and technology and works only with state of the art equipment.

Experienced and knowledgeable in all aspects of dentistry, she has gained a particular reputation for treating anxious patients. Her particular expertise is in treating those patients who, due to years of neglect as a result of their dental phobia, require complex treatment.

David R. Young

David Young qualified with honours in Dentistry from the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St. Thomas’s in 1985. In 1991 he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

David then joined the three year Orthodontic Postgraduate Training Programme at the Eastman Dental Hospital and was awarded a Master of Science Degree in Orthodontics, with Honours, from the University of London in 1993 and awarded the European Research Award in 1994 for his thesis. In 1994 he was awarded a Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and gained the distinction of the Gold Medal for clinical excellence.

David is involved in clinical teaching and lecturing in orthodontics to postgraduate orthodontic trainees at Guy’s Hospital, and research into new methods of orthodontic care. He has lectured both nationally and internationally and is a member of The British, European and World Federation of Orthodontists. David Young is certified in the use of Invisalign. He specialises on adult orthodontics including severe problems of malalignment of the jaw and teeth.

Dr Christina Perreira

Christina graduated at The Catholic University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, in February 1999 where she also underwent specialist training in periodontology and minor oral surgery. She came to England and completed the International Qualification in January 2006 and has recently completed an MSc in endodontics at The Eastman Dental Hospital where she now works as a part time Endodontist.

She joined the team at ‘the gentle dentist’ in 2012 and is much valued for her expertise, gentleness and kind understanding.

Dr Sonja George

Sonia qualified from Cairo University in 1977. She gained her anaesthetic experience at leading Hospitals in London, including Westminster, West Middlesex, The Royal Marsden, The Brook General and King Edward VII Hospitals.

She started private anaesthetic practice in 1987and worked as a Consultant Anaesthetist at The Portland Hospital for Women and Children for 15 years where she helped to set up IV sedation services for the Fertility Unit. She was also a Consultant Anaesthetist at the Wellington Hospital IVF Unit.

In 1987 she set up her own private practice specializing in intravenous sedation and has modified the ‘conscious sedation’ technique to suit a variety of procedures.

Sonja has considerable experience in sedation techniques and keeps up to date with all the latest developments in general anaesthesia. She is a member of the Association of Anaesthetists, BACD, SAAD, and the Dental Anaesthetists Association.

The gentle dentist is grateful for her unstinting care and attention to all her patients.

Christine Dorgan

Having qualified as a dental nurse at Cork University Dental Hospital in 2000, Chris spent eight years gaining valuable experience and insight into all aspects of dentistry. She then fulfilled a lifetime ambition to train as a hygienist and was awarded her qualification from University College Cork in 2010. This was followed by a spell of Dental Outreach Voluntary Work in Ghana before ‘crossing the water’ to England and joining ‘the gentle dentist’ team.

Her passion for dentistry, and compassion for her patients, makes her an invaluable member of the team. She is adored by both her patients and fellow team members, all of whom enjoy her Irish charm, wit and empathy.

Sally Boshell

Sally has her roots clearly implanted in dentistry ever since her work experience atGuys Dental Hospital aged 15 years old, her fascination with dentistry following this initial exposure lead to two years training at Guys Hospital Dental School (the best dental school in the world according to Sally!)

Sally qualified in 1996, and having gained experience in several areas of dentistry until settling with Toni nearly 15 years ago. She started off as Toni's dental nurse, and has progressed to become Practice Manager and Toni's right hand girl!

Further to Sally's Dental Nursing qualification she has also completed her National Radiography qualification and Diploma in Dental Practice Management and at present is undergoing specialist training in sedation.

Sally greets patients in a friendly and professional manner and soon puts nervous patients at ease with her ready smile and confident manner.

Sally is passionate about the health and welfare of teeth and gums and is compassionate with patient's needs and concerns.

With her extensive knowledge you can rely on Sally to give you answers to any questions you have, whether treatment related or, more often, anxiety related. Patients often find it easier to discuss their treatment outside of the "torture chamber"!

In the Practice, we all rely on Sally and her positive, enthusiastic attitude to keep us all going!

Vicki Clayton

Vicki moved to London from Grimsby seeking fame and fortune in 2005. Instead she found fun with us and discovered her hither to unknown passion for dentistry! She qualified as a dental nurse in 2007 and to date has earned a wealth of experience in dental practice. She is particularly valued by staff and patients alike for her reliability and endless patience and sympathy.

She is a much valued and appreciated member of our incomparable team.

Atsuyoshi Kakinuma

Atsuyoshi trained in Japan before coming to England to further his career as a dental ceramist and has achieved award winning world class status. Following the Japanese tradition for mastery of detail he captures the natural beauty of form and design to produce aesthetically enhancing, undetectable restorations.
